Doctrine and Covenants 62
August 13, 1831, Chariton, Missouri.

On their way home from Independence, Joseph and his companions happen on John Murdock, Hyrum Smith, Harvey Whitlock, and David Whitmer in Chariton on August 13. They are to continue on to Zion and hold a meeting before returning to their labors.

    65 Commandmenrt given Aug 13th 1831 on the Bank of the river Missorie at a meeting of some of the Elders which had not yet arived at their Journeys end &c   A Revelation to certain elders, while journeying to the land of Zion, given on the bank of the Missouri river, August, 1831.   Background: ¶ John Murdock
Listen, Lord knows 1 Behold & hearken oh ye Elders of my Church saith the Lord your God even Jesus Christ your advocate who knoweth the weakness of man & how to sucour they that <them who> are tempted   [1] BEHOLD and hearken, O ye elders of my church, saith the Lord your God; even Jesus Christ, your advocate, who knoweth the weakness of man and how to succor them who are tempted:  
Your mission not finished 2 & verily mine eyes are upon you <those> who have not as yet gone up unto the Land of Zion   [2] And verily mine eyes are upon those who have not as yet gone up unto the land of Zion:
    wherefore your mission is not yet full   [3] Wherefore your mission is not yet full:  
Good work, sins forgiven 3 nevertheless ye are blessed for the testimony which ye have borne is recorded in heaven for the Angels to look upon & they rejoice over you and your sins are forgiven you   [4] Nevertheless ye are blessed, for the testimony which ye have borne, is recorded in heaven for the angels to look upon, and they rejoice over you; and your sins are forgiven you.
Gather in Zion 4 & now continue your Journey   [5] And now continue your journey.   Minutes of August 24, 1831
Sacrament   assemble yourselves upon the land of Zion & hold a meeting & rejoice together & offer a sacrament unto the most high   [6] Assemble yourselves upon the land of Zion, and hold a meeting and rejoice together, and offer a sacrament unto the Most High.   ¶ William E. McLellin
Then return 5 & then you may return to bear record   [7] And then you may return to bear record;
 
In pairs or not   yea even all together or two by two as seemeth you good   [8] Yea, even all together, or two by two, as seemeth you good;    
Continue mission   it mattereth not unto me only be faithfull & declare glad tidings unto the inhabitants of the Earth or among the Congregations of the wicked   [9] It mattereth not unto me, only be faithful, and declare glad tidings unto the inhabitants of the earth, or among the congregations of the wicked.    
I brought you together to fulfill promise 6 Behold I the Lord have brought you together that the promise might be fulfilled that the faithfull among you should be preserved & rejoice together in the Land of Missorie   [10] Behold I the Lord, have brought you together that the promise might be fulfilled, that the faithful among you should be preserved and rejoice together in the land of Missouri.
 
    I the Lord promised the faithfull & cannot lie   [11] I the Lord promised the faithful and cannot lie.    
Travel as you like 7 I the Lord am willing if any among you desireth to ride upon horses or upon mules or in chariots shall receive this blessing if he receive it from the hand of the Lord with <a> thankfullness heart in all things   [12] I the Lord am willing, if any among you desireth to ride upon horses, or upon mules, or in chariots, he shall receive this blessing, if he receive it from the hand of the Lord, with a thankful heart in all things.
  he shall: he added in
Do as directed by spirit 8 these things remain with you to do according to Judgement & the directions of the spirit   [13] These things remain with you to do according to judgment and the directions of the Spirit.
 
Kingdom yours 9 Behold the kingdom is yours   [14] Behold, the kingdom is yours.
   
    And Behold & lo I am with the faithfull always even so Amen—   [15] And behold, and lo I am with the faithful always; even so: Amen.
