Say, go to Zion

Build up Zion
9 And behold, and lo, this shall be their cry, and the voice of the Lord unto all people: Go ye forth unto the land of Zion, that the borders of my people may be enlarged, and that her stakes may be strengthened, and that Zion may go forth unto the regions round about.   "Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes" Isaiah 54:2.
Flee to Zion 12 Let them, therefore, which who are among the Gentiles flee unto Zion.
Jews to Jerusalem 13 And let them who be of Judah, flee unto Jerusalem, unto the mountains of the Lord's house.
Leave Babylon (wickedness) 14 Go ye out from among the nations, even from Babylon, from the midst of wickedness, which is spiritual Babylon.
Make preparations for going

Don't turn back
15 But verily thus saith the Lord, let not your flight be in haste, but let all things be prepared before you: and he that goeth, let him not look back, lest sudden destruction shall come upon him.   "But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt." Genesis 19:26.
People in the north

Melt ice
26 And they who are in the north countries shall come in remembrance before the Lord, and their prophets shall hear his voice, and shall no longer stay themselves, and they shall smite the rocks, and the ice shall flow down at their presence.   ¶ Ezra Booth Letters (1–3)

Elias gathers Israel, restores all 9 … the angel ascending from the east is he to whom is given the seal of the living God over the twelve tribes of Israel; wherefore, he crieth unto the four angels having the everlasting gospel, saying: Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And, if you will receive it, this is Elias which was to come to gather together the tribes of Israel and restore all things.
10 What time are the things spoken of in this chapter to be accomplished?
They are to be accomplished in the sixth thousand years, or the opening of the sixth seal.
14 … it was a mission, and an ordinance, for him to gather the tribes of Israel; behold, this is Elias, who, as it is written, must come and restore all things.

Until there is no more room, then stakes Until the day cometh when there is found no more room for them; and then I have other places which I will appoint unto them, and they shall be called stakes, for the curtains or the strength of Zion.
April 20–21, 1834 New Portage Conference
Enroute to a conference in New Portage, Joseph Smith, Sidney Rigdon, Oliver Cowdery, and Zebedee Coltrin: Minutes of April 20–21, 1834 Background
Pray for Joseph, redemption of Zion   … soon retired to the wilderness, where we united in prayer … We called upon the Father in the name of Jesus to go with the breth[r]en who were [77] going up to the land of Zion, to give brother Joseph strength, and wisdom, and understanding sufficient to lead the people of the Lord, and to gather back, and establish the saints upon the land of their inheritances, and organize them according to the will of heaven that they be no more cast down forever.

Remnant to gather

Joseph: In the last days, God will call a remnant to be saved from destruction. Part of the remnant will be from Jerusalem and part from Zion. Desolation will " soon cover the earth," and God wants a "place of deliverance in his remnant, and in Zion, &c."

  Joel 2
Gathering required for redemption

… without a Zion and a place of deliverance, we must fall, because the time is near when the sun will be darkened, the moon turn to blood, the stars fall from heaven and the earth reel to and fro; then if this is the case, if we are not sanctified and gathered to the places where God has appointed, … we must fall, we cannot stand, we cannot be saved; for God will gather out his saints from the gentiles and then comes desolation or destruction and none can escape except the pure in heart who are gathered, &c. …

Gather only where directed   [Sidney] said it was in vain for men in this generation to think of laying up and providing inheritances for their children except they laid it up in the place where deliverance was appointed by the voice of God; for those were to be the days of vengeance ...
Joseph: destruction if Zion not delivered   [Joseph] then delivererd a short prophecy, that if Zion was not deliverd, the time was near when all of this Church, wherever they might be found would be persecuted and destroyed in like manner.
