Minutes of April 7, 1837
After three days of discussions, the high council of Zion and their two independent-minded presidents reconcile. (¶ Thomas B. Marsh's letter of May 1837 indicates the presidents "suffered themselves to be corrected by the council.") At this meeting, the Far West city plat is adopted, the presidents are among the five "wise men" appointed to price and sell town lots, building committee named for the House of the Lord with the presidents of the stake to superintend and receive revelations for them.

These quorums [high council and bishop's council] accept of Jacob Whitmer, Elisha H. Groves, and George M Hinkle as building committee of the house of the Lord in this City.

Jacob substitutes for David Whitmer   Jacob Whitmer substitutes as a high counselor until President David Whitmer arrives.    
Stake presidents building superintendents, revelators   David Whitmer, John Whitmer, W. W. Phelps to superintend building of the House of the Lord "and receive Revelations Visions &c. concerning said house."
