Minutes of May 22–25, 1835
The Twelve meet with the Freedom Conference in Freedom, New York; preach on various subjects; wise men to raise funds for lands in Missouri; members contribute a pittance to the Twelve; Elders Murdock and Lewis to set nearby branches in order; Brigham Young and companions set apart to preach to the Seneca Indians.

Conference boundaries, branch reports   Resolve boundaries of the Freedom Conference extend from Lodi in the west, Avon in the east, Pennsylvania in the south, Lake Ontario in the north. Branches: Freedom (65 members), Rushford (28), Portage, Grove, Burns (30), Genesee, Avon, Java, Holland (15, "represented by P. P. Pratt as having suffered much from false teachings by hypocrites and knaves"), Aurora (4), Greenwood, Niagara. Number of members in other branches "not ascertained, but generally reported in good standing." MH-B

Gift of Holy Ghost
  "… commenced public preaching at 10 oclock in a large barn." Heber C. Kimball reads John 14 and speaks half an hour "Very feelingly indeed." William E. McLellin speaks 1 14/ hours from the same chapter "on the nature and affects of the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Deliverence of Zion

Wise men
  in the afternoon We met with the church in order to instruct them respecting the deliverence of Zion. Elders Hyde, M'Lellin and P. Pratt addressed them about 40 minutes each and the brethren seemed to receive our teachings and they s'd that they would obey or endeavour to at least. 'To appoint their wise men &c. Much was said also about superfluous dress and about the abuse of the gifts of in the Church &c &c. McLellin journals

Orson Hyde on Book of Mormon
 

A congregation of probably seven hundred assembled in a large barn and Elder O. Hyde preached to them in a most plain and powerful discourse on the evidences of the book of Mormon for 1 ½ hours and at intermition he immersed 2 females who were received by the church unto baptism …
